Happy new year to you all. I wish you all a pain free year too.

I had bad news on Christmas eve as i went to the dermatologist about a lesion on my nose which won't heal and has been there for 20months or so. I assumed it would be removed but i got a big shock when he told me it was a skin cancer. i have to have 6 weeks of cream chemotheraphy on it, 5 days per week and then it will be another 3 months before we know if it's gone.

Christmas morning i fell over and banged my face hard on the wardrobe, bloody legs didn't move when i did!!

I was supposed to be starting enbrel in January but i don't know if i will be allowed to now so i suppose i will have to wait until i see the consultant on the 11th.

Also got a virus, bad stomach last week and now painful ribs from it.

Keep smiling all of you, it's a new year!!

Love Shirley x

Oh Shirley. What a start for you. I've never heard of cream chemotherapy before. Hopefully you will get through all this with the minimum of discomfort-will be sending up special thoughts for you.

Hello all

Thanks for all the replies. Just to update you all i have been to see the rheumy consultant today and was given the choice of enbrel or humira and i have chosen humira, just because it is an injection every 2 weeks rather then weekly, being the coward i am!!

My skin cancer is very red from the chemotheraphy cream and because it is only topical it won't effect my RA treatment apparently. I am very pleased about that!!
